RE: Sig Kougar Build

No, the nose is wrong, the canopy and turtledeck are too far back, the tail feathers are wrong. Looks like a mixture of kits. The nose looks like a SuperSportster, and the wing looks more like an...

RE: Sig Kougar Build

HeliTB, If that is a brand new engine, you will want to break it in with a 10X6 prop. Then after the break in, you can go to a 11X6 or an 11X7 prop. a 12 inch prop is a little large for a 40 sized...

RE: Sig Kougar Build

Try the 11X6 and 11X7 first. If you are using a Hobbico exhaust deflector, get rid of it. It robs a lot of power. Also try APC props.

RE: Sig Kougar Build

Submikester, What prop are you running on that Magnum? You might be able to reprop it to get the speed you want. If you are running a 11X6 I think the engine will handle a 11X7 without bogging the...

RE: Sig Kougar Build

I always had problems getting covering to stick to epoxy. It likes to slide. I have read that scrubbing the epoxy down with alcohol helps.

RE: Sig Kougar Build

So the Kobra still has a built up wing. The king Kobra used to, back in the early 90's, and as far as I know the Kougar has always had foam cores.

Nice job. The only problem I see is that...

RE: Sig Kougar Build

Gray Beard, what plane is that? The tail looks more like the Kavalier, except the Kavalier is a high wing, And the Kougar has a foam core wing instead of built up like that one.

RE: Sig Kougar Build

Can you imagine going to NASCAR, or a drag race and no noise? Who would pay for that?

Personally I like the noise. Clean up is a small price to pay.:D:D

RE: Sig Kougar Build

HeliTB, To get your dimensions, Go to your center page and measure in the distance for your ailerons. This should help you get the width of the PW blocks. (Center joint to the aileron end). Then...

RE: Sig Kougar Build

RE: Sig Kougar Build

HeliTB, Jollyroger has you going in the right direction. When you get masking tape, get the low tack painters tapes. The standard masking tapes will pull fibers out of the balsa sheeting.

If...

RE: Sig Kougar Build

HeliTB, this is not really a good first kit. Going through the manual I guess you have seen alot of carving and shaping. The leading edges of the wing have to be right. That could mean the...

RE: Sig Kougar Build

JR, do you have any pics on the battery box/hatch set up? by the way, nice work.

Anyway, I built one of these back around 93, I thought I was ready to fly the thing till I saw how fast it went. ...
