Yang himself has admitted to two already, broken carbon tube incidences. Is this something to be taken lightly??? Not many of the 110 L39's he produced are flying yet, so, how many more...

Granted Snobird,

I know Nick had a hard landing, but this should not be the reason for a wing spar to let go. If this should be the case, then, my theory of very flimsy and weak carbon struts...

As I said earlier, I only had a couple of flights in this bird. How can it be anything else, other than manufacturing defect? What would someone do to the main carbon wing tube to make it chop off...

I don't know what more you can do, other than what you are already doing, but I know that both, Skymasterjet and Airworld are using thick tubing ( I know it's aluminum in the 1/5 AW...

As promised.

There are about six inches of 1/2" dia. thin walled carbon tubing holding the whole 34Lb airframe. Not only that, this thin tube also carries the stresses of the over-weight landing...

Mike,

I was the one "lucky enough" to find out the very expensive way!!!. I still have that wing that separated from the rest of the airframe and the evidence is beyond any doubt incriminating...

Guys beware of the rudder linkage and setup. I am at the airfield right now with Denny, who just had a near disaster, flying his L39. He took off flew for about three seconds and I noticed something...
