It flies good with a slightly forward C of G, can't remember the figure, will check with Colin...

Colin's GJC L-39 was test flown from grass, no problems-in fact I test flew UK Rep Andy Bascombe's L-39 at the same site!.
Colin's L-39 now with scale cockpit and elevator sorted.

Yes, my point was that with the trailing edge lined up perfectly the set screws only just made the square. This was a GJC model.

Haven't been through the whole thread but in sorting out a stiff elevator problem on a friends L-39 I came across this, which should be noted.
The builder had put the hinges in too far so the pivot...

It was around 6 1/2 inches. I didn't actually fly this one, can't remember where Andy's was. Looking at the wing I think you could go to 7" with plenty of expo on elevator. L-39's are...
