I have always been a advocate of using only one top notch servo on elevator (in case of the JL L-39 it was a Futaba BLS 451).
Last Saturday, I nearly lost controls over my Elan at full power...

Steve,

Whether or not the alu rod is in the hinge center, it does not affect the operation or degree of slop at all. Off-centre movement should be no problem at all, because the alu tube is not...
