.001 to .004 mil sheet lexan from a polymer plastics distributer, usually 20" x 48" available. Wrapped around the fan shroud in the mounted position and stuffed through the exit if it is properly sized, marked with a felt tip marker when secured, cut to size, then taped togther with 2" wide clear packing tape.

Thank you Gary!
I sent a message to Air Sally and I hope he will answer me.
Can you tell me the diameters in section where cover of the engine join the tube and in the exhaust section?
Thank you,
Gino.

Gino,
On my Phantom the first section of thrust tube is 11 " long and starts at 5 1/4 " diameter at the fan and tapers to 5". The second section is 13 1/2" long and tapers from 5" to 4" .My tail cones are about 3" long and will taper down to 3 1/2", The hump for the cylinder head is 7/8" taller. In the good ole days, you could buy the engine cover separate and glue it onto your homemade tube. I thought I had one of those but I'm unable to locate it. I'm thinking of scratch building a F-20 for Dynamax/OS.91 and will have to make my own inlets and tailpipe for it.

I have included some pics of the inlet and tailpipe for a JMP Starfire II I built back in the '90s. The thrust tube on it goes from 5 1/4" at the fan to 3 3/8" at the exit.

I hope this information helps.

Hello Gary,
Thank you for information. I will try to make a 3D model of the thrust tube.
In the same time I will keep searching for the section that has motor cover on it.

Dear friends of these wonderful old fighters.
I was lucky enough to buy a kit of the Thorjet Phantom, unfortunately the
plan for the Wing is missing. Can anyone help me out?Or report experiences with the Phantom?
Thanks a lot in advance, stay safe Andy

Hi, glad to know someone is still flying nitro ducted fan. Here is my OS.91 VF on Ramtech ducted fan unit in F-18. Unfortunately, one blade was broken recently. Still searching for it's replacement part.

Would it be possible to use the fan from an electric unit if you can find one of the correct diameter?

I may still have some Ramtec parts stashed away. I’ll take a look and let you know if I have what you need.

That is what I love about this forum and what it's all about. I have a ton of .049 to RK 40 sized stuff and documentation, but not much this large. My 90 sized stuff is all Byron.

I didn't count the blades in your fan. That is a Dynamax fan (11 blades) and not a Ramtech.(9 blades)
You can still get Dynamax parts from Tom Cook @ Jet Model Products.

I searched all the most likely spots in my shop yesterday and didn’t find any old fan parts. There are still a few other less likely hiding (storage) places that I can look, but at this point I’m not very confident that I have any of that stuff left. I’ll take another look over the weekend and let you know if I find anything.

Oh, really?
A guy who sold this to me told this is Ramtec. If it is Dynamax, I will find spare parts much easier.

Thank you so much sit

If anyone is looking for the Mac's header that bolts to a K&B 3.5 rear exhaust engine, I have a dusty one that's been in storage for a long time!
