Hi guys, I did some Saito research, it took years, so here are "some" little-known facts about Saito engines you may not know about, enjoy,,,
1) a Saito engine is known for stopping the first bullet that was fired at President Reagan, during the ordeal President Reagan was heard to say say "Saito does it again for me".
2) a Saito engine was the engine that powered the first plane that flew around the world, it was a 1/4 scale plane that flew around the world 3 times, without stopping or landing, it flew at the hiegh of 29,000 feet for the complete flight, the flight took place in 1920 and the plane used a 15oz fuel tank but the flight only used 6oz of fuel to make the 148 hour trip, the plane carried a 1 pound live squirrel for a pilot, and the plane was a 1/4 scale high wing model appropriately named "I can do it Again Mama",, a young man named Einstein was the engine's tuner,
3) Saito engines were used to lift the men that built the Eiffel Tower.
4) Saito engines were there to power the water pumps when the Panama Canal was built.
5) Saito engines were used to power air pumps that powered Air Hammers to carve Mount Rushmore and to power Rivet Hammers that built the Empire State building.
6) a Saito engine was and is the only engine that has ever been used to replace a Human Heart, the man lived 86 years with his new heart. this man is known to brake 16 world record long distant 3 day, 4 day and 5 day marathon runs.
I hope you guys enjoyed my research, there are many many more Saito facts such as these to be research, but these are the ones I found that stood out for me, I hope you enjoyed them.
and if you guys know of any other unknown Saito history please do tell..
Jim
7) Elvis owned 500 Saito engines, that was after he gave away 1100 signed Saitos engine to fans.

I was able to get your elbow pretty much done after work today. If I come back out before dinner, it will be done tonight. I made it very compact and light in weight. 9 x m.75 male in and 10 x m 1.0 female out.
Hopefully as needed
Now jim mike did'nt mean no harm or offence about you being off your meds,if you are.You only need to read his 'vp not so scale' comment at the bottom of each post to realize he's got no sense of humour.Do you think he's a born again prohibitionist from the old gangster 30's era in chicago?

Rudolph have been nipping at Grandpa Roy's still again? Prohibition is a nasty word in my family! I'll have you know my father use to say he married my mother for her sourmash recipe!

You Saito aficionados out there may care to keep an eye on the classifieds over at RCG (can I say that?)
I plan to buy a few more YS engines and as result,I will no longer need several,(most) of the Saitos presently sitting on the Saito shelf.
From time to timeI will list at RCG. I will try to give you guys a timely
heads-up.

That box has a brand new Saito 45 Special inside. I have a box shortage and as a result, some of those boxes may contain more than one engine.

I still have no idea what pair of engines I will need for my Ziroli Black Widow. The Ziroli B-25 got a pair of NGH 38CC 4 stroke gassers, and they would be too small for the P-61. It's too bad the Evolution 777 doesn't have the power to fly it as it would fit perfectly in the cowls.
Always! And what's worse, what flies the plane are 2 stroke gas. Yuck! That's why I got the NGH ones for the B-25. Warbirds don't have screaming engines, they have low RPM rumbling monsters in them that cause the ground to vibrate. I would love a pair of Saito gas engines for them, but they don't have any large enough.

You're making a big mistake swapping out those totally reliable Saitos for the unreliable mid range smoking and bogging YS engines that will require a regulator rebuild every 3 months or so. They're only reliable if they're box queens.

Absolutely perfect powerband, idle and transition. Easy, reliable starting, flexible fuel tank location, no case venting, and NO, the regulators don't need rebuilding every three months! That is plain silly.
I take the regulators apart in the fall, wash them with alcohol and put them away. In the spring, start up and setup were easy and lasted for the trouble-free season. (Lots of flying, in airplanes)
Where in the world does all the "queen" stuff come from? Castor Queen", now "Box Queens" ?? My engines go in to planes and get flown, not Test Stand Queens; In real, flying airplanes
. I have just recently: come into a few more Saitos than I can use and would rather turn them in for engines I like better. They will see plenty of fuel and real flying time.
Please note, there is only ONE YS in the boxes on the shelf. It was my first .53. I will be putting that one in the Sig Kadet Senior I am building at present.
BTW: I don't recall tagging them them ALL losers. Just the people who didn't stick around long enough to learn the differences. I'll leave the first to go personal stuff to you.
